The Office of the Director Assam Rifles, Shillong, invites applications for enrolment in the Assam Rifles under the Compassionate Ground Appointment Scheme. The Recruitment Rally is tentatively scheduled to commence from 4th March 2024 at Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles, Laitkor, Shillong (Meghalaya) NRS – Guwahati (Assam). Age Limit:

- Lineman / Plumber / X-Ray Assistant: 18 to 23 years
Educational Qualifications:
- Personal Assistant: Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) Exam Pass. Skill Test Norms on Computer.
- Recovery Veh Mech: 10th class pass and ITI certificate in Recovery Vehicle Mechanic or Recovery Vehicle Operator.
- Draughtsman: 10+2 or equivalent + 03 years Diploma in Architectural Assistantship.
- Lineman: Matric / 10th class Pass + ITI certificate in Electrician trade.
- Plumber: 10th class pass and ITI certificate in Plumber trade.
- X-Ray Assistant: 10+2 Pass with Diploma in Radiology.
Eligibility Criteria: Only one dependent family member of Assam Rifles Personnel who were Killed in Action, Died While in Service, or Discharged from Service on Medical Grounds while in Service are eligible to apply for Compassionate Ground Appointment.

- Recovery Vehicle Mechanic (For Male candidates only), Initial Rank – Rifleman: 10th class pass and ITI certificate in Recovery Vehicle Mechanic or Recovery Vehicle Operator.
- Bridge & Road (Both Male & Female candidates), Initial Rank – Naib Subedar: Matric or equivalent, Diploma in civil engineering.
- Electrical & Mechanical (For Male candidates only), Initial Rank – Naib Subedar: Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Draughtsman (For Male candidates only), Initial Rank — Warrant Officer: 10+2 or equivalent with three years diploma in Architectural Assistantship.
- Plumber (For Male candidates only), Initial Rank — Rifleman: 10th class pass with ITI certificate in Plumber trade.
